Step 1
Lay out a clean fishing net on a tarp. Spray paint the net with a vivid blue color so your fish will look like they are swimming in water. Spread out the fishing net on a large table once it is dry.
Step 2
Use small to medium paper plates to create a school of fish. Cut a triangle out of the left side of the paper plate. This opening is the mouth.
Step 3
Create a tail by gluing the triangle to the right side of the paper plate.
Step 4
Glue a large googly eye on the fish. Or draw an eye with a marker.
Step 5
Decorate the fish. Give your child a variety of things that he can use to decorate his fish. Instruct him to glue ribbons, bits of tissue paper, tin foil squares, or even scraps of fabric to add texture and color to the fish. Alternatively, she could color in the fish with markers, crayons or colored pencils.
Step 6
Punch a hole at the top of the fish with a hole puncher. Use yarn or string to attach the fish to the fishing net. Repeat Steps 1 through 5 to create more fish.
Step 7
Cut seaweed and shells from construction paper and add them to the mural.
Step 8
Use three to four nails to hang this new piece of artwork in your child's bedroom.
