  • iPod Touch

Step 1
Click the Maps application on your iPod Touch. It should be preloaded on the device.

You should see a map and a marker pinpointing your location. Above is a search box. Tap that box, type your desired destination and click "Search."
Step 3
Your search results should now appear on the map with a marker that looks like a pushpin. Sometimes a few markers will appear if there are multiple results. Tap the one you want.

Tap the "Directions to here" box. If the box labeled "Start" is empty, type 'Current location" if you want a route map from your location. Otherwise type a desired starting address. Click the "Route" button.
Step 5
Your route map is now available. You should see markers indicating a starting point and an end point. It will also estimate the distance (in miles) of your route as well as the duration of your trip.

Tips & Warnings

When viewing your route map, you should see three tabs above for driving, transit and walking options. On the lower-right corner of your screen, there is a next-page icon that you can click to find more options such as "Show traffic" and "Satellite." These options will enable you to see live traffic information and a satellite view of your map. The "List" option will also be on this page, where you can view step-by-step route directions for driving.
