Oil Creek State Park commemorates the booming oil industry that once filled the Oil Creek Valley. The Oil Creek Bike Trail, a 9.7-mile paved trail in Venango County that is very popular with families of cyclists of all ages, is built on an abandoned railroad bed with a slight uphill grade going toward Titusville. After beginning at the site of Petroleum Center, an oil-boom town of the late nineteenth century, the trail winds its way north through the scenic Oil Creek river valley to the Drake Well Museum at Titusville, the site of the world's first commercial oil well. Terrain: flat, no traffic.
