Facts About Vacations in Jamaica
Jamaica is a popular tourist destination, famous for white sand beaches and crystal blue waters. The island is rich in history and culture, with plenty of festivals to visit and good food to try. Popular places to stay in Jamaica are Negril, Montego Bay and Ochos Rios.

Jamaica has a tropical climate with only a 10-degree change between summer and winter, with winter averaging about 80 degrees and summer averaging about 90 degrees. Jamaica's rainy season runs from May to June and again from October to November.

The currency in Jamaica is the Jamaican dollar, although many places do accept U.S. dollars.

Tourist Season

Jamaica's busy tourist season runs from the middle of December to the middle of April, a period when it is winter in many other parts of the world.

Among Jamaica's many popular attractions are pristine beaches like Doctor's Cave Beach and Seven Mile Beach. The Blue Mountains are another popular spot for visitors as are the many casinos found around Montego Bay.

Many activities in Jamaica center on the water, such as diving, snorkeling, windsurfing and deep sea fishing. The island is also well known for celebrations such as the Jamaican Coffee Festival and, of course, Carnival.
