Activities include windsurfing, guided trips into the mountains or a visit to a local village. At the marine park, you can swim with the sharks, or for a more friendly adventure, you can take a short boat ride to Dolphin Island.
Most hotels provide shows and have discos. On full-moon nights, a beach party will be in full swing on Bavaro beach.
Few people need transport other than a trip from the airport to the hotel. Most hotels offer transfers from the Punta Cana airport for their guests. If you arrive at the airport in Santo Domingo, you will have to take an expensive taxi or a cheaper but slow minibus.
