Best Easy Day Hikes Grand Junction and Fruita by Bill Haggerty
Grand Junction and Fruita sit in spectacular country— the Colorado Grand Valley, a 30-mile stretch of land alongside the Colorado River that is rugged yet gentle, remote yet close to home, vibrant yet subtle with contrast. The remarkable Colorado National Monument, operated by the National Park Service, borders the southwest edge of the valley, while the Bureau of Land Management’s Dominguez-Escalante National Conservation Area and Dominguez Canyon Wilderness Area lie directly south.
