The Pisquid is very much a tidal river, so knowing when the tide is rising or falling is very important. We entered the river on the falling tide, but with enough time to explore the river inland from the bridge. I heartily recommend that you wear kneehigh rubber boots here. The Pisquid is a silty, no, muddy river. Launching demands that you walk in the mud at low tide. No matter, even though my wife slipped and fell in the mud, the effort of launching is worth it.
