Conway Narrows Professional Review and Guide
"The Narrows is a long, protected body of water that is ideal for either canoe or kayak. The northern barrier beach blocks the wind from the Gulf of St. Lawrence, so even if there is a breeze, the surface water remains smooth. You can paddle for many hours up and down this beautiful channel. The Narrows is both narrow and very shallow. For the paddler this is splendid because for much of the Narrows, there is no boat traffic.
There are no boat wakes to contend with, and there is absolute quiet—no motors, no houses, no noise. For families, especially with young children aboard, this area is ideal because so much of the paddling can be done in water depth that actually allows you to walk. For those who are a bit timid, seeing the bottom and knowing that the depth is slight is reassuring."
