The sandy beach is a gradual dropoff with no obstructions. Head out into the cove and turn right to paddle upriver and inland. The shore is sparsely inhabited and bordered by mature woodland. This body of water is well protected from the wind, so the paddling feels more like being on a lake than in a cove. Several beaches rest at the foot of minicliffs. We ate a delightful lunch on one of those beaches.
