Grand Manan / Southern Head Professional Review and Guide
"The trail is off of the southern coast of New Brunswick, on Grand Manan Island. Despite its small size and popularity, Grand Manan does not feel crowded at all. On the 5.5-mile loop around Southern Head you will be filled with a sense of grandeur, looking out over the endless expanse of salt water and traveling inland through the woods and past a large pond and marshy area. The island is predominantly flat but sits high above the salt waters of the Bay of Fundy and Grand Manan Channel. The trail follows singletrack paths and ATV tracks around the lower end of the island with minimal elevation change, but it offers great views over dramatic cliffs that plunge several stories to the ocean. The ride, though not difficult, does require good bike handling skills on the singletrack paths that head out to the edge of the cliffs and on the rocky sections of doubletrack trail."
