Silver Islet to Rossport Professional Review and Guide
"In our opinion this is one of the two best extended wilderness trips on Lake Superior (the other being Pukaskwa National Park). The outer islands of the Black Bay Peninsula and St. Ignace Island group are difficult to reach, with road and water access available only at Silver Islet, Red Rock, Nipigon, and Rossport. The remoteness has kept this area largely undeveloped, though this may change as the area becomes a more popular spot for vacation cottages. For now there’s plenty of room, with wonderfully rugged scenery and hundreds of islands to explore (these will not be visible until you look at a detailed map of the area)."
