Nipigon River Recreation Trail Professional Review and Guide
"Volunteers blazed this trail along the Nipigon River and into Lake Superior’s Nipigon Bay about a decade ago for hikers. Although short, the trail passes through eight different landscapes: a flat marina, wetlands, open shoreline, woodlands, steep rock climbs along four poles of an Ontario Hydro line, ravines and through mature boreal forest. The trail includes three lookouts– Eagle Ridge, Nipigon Bay and Lloyd’s lookout, which features a rest area with rest rooms and picnic tables. The region holds a hike-for-health fundraiser along the trail every year on the last Saturday of September."
