This ride begins in Quinine, a small community 15.5 miles east of Yarmouth, Nova Scotia. Mushpauk Lake can be reached by biking along the remains of an old coach road that once ran between Quinan and the town of Pubnico on the coast. Having deteriorated considerably since the last farms were abandoned, the road makes an excellent introduction to the type of terrain common to off-road riding: exposed rocks, puddles, muddy ruts, grassy doubletrack, and short climbs and descents. Furthermore, because of the relatively short length of the trail, this ride makes a great outing for families or groups with riders of all fitness and ability levels.
