Opened in the mid-1980s, Dollar Lake is almost 1,200 ha (3,000 ac) in area. It contains more than 100 camping sites and is crisscrossed by innumerable logging roads and game trails. There are almost 10 km (6.25 mi) of gravelled road within the park boundaries, permitting a range of walks for all different fitness levels. Much of the park’s trail system was extensively damaged in 1993 by Hurricane Juan and has not been reopened.
