The ride is located approximately one hour north of Halifax on the Evangeline Trail, in the Annapolis Valley. For much of this 10-mile ride, you will be riding along the top of the Grand-Pre Dikes, which were constructed to enable farmers to cultivate the rich soil of the marshlands by keeping the tidal waters at bay. At present, 2,013 acres of farmland below sea level are protected behind 5.3 miles of dikes. The trail is wide enough, almost jeep width, that you can enjoy the view without fear of inadvertently toppling over the edge. The wide doubletrack trail has an excellent riding surface of hard-packed dirt with some grassy sections. From this unique vantage point, you can see across the Minas Basin to the Blomidon Cliffs and survey the farmers working the fertile soil of the marshlands.

This is a very relaxing ride through the original Wolfeville landscape. The ride is very flat and great for a beginer or anyone looking for some great views of the Fundy Basin. Along the trail you can stop at a few historic churches and get a feel for traditional Acadian life. I enjoyed the trail, it was quiet; a nice Sunday afternoon ride!
