Martock is located off of Route 14, about 5 miles from Windsor. Martock Mountain, a popular ski destination in the winter months, boasts one of the most challenging mountain bike courses on the Nova Scotia race circuit. This ride is a tough 4-mile course that begins with a loop up and down Martock Mountain and concludes with a second loop through a primarily wooded area at the base of the mountain. the trails are primarily single and doubletracks that incorporate all the features of a good race circuit: tough climbs, exhilarating downhills, and skill-testing technical terrain. Because the course is relatively short, riders of all skill levels can explore their own limits on this ride. Furthermore, there are some options along he course that will give novice riders the chance to by pass some of the most technically and aerobically challenging sections of the ride. Two features of the course stand out: the famous singletrack downhill run on the mountain, and the technically outrageous trails that follow a twisted and precarious path through an old gypsum mine.
