Balancing Rock: One of the most famous scenic destinations in the province, the Balancing Rock is a slender column of basalt perched in an apparently impossible position. Yet it has been this way, geologists maintain, for many thousands or even millions of years. Thousands of visitors endure the steep descent and climb each year to take pictures of this remarkable sight. Never expect to be alone on this trail. Sentier Piau: Belliveaus Cove Trail was completed in late 1999, and is a walk for almost anybody. There are no hills, the treadway is well-defined and graveled. It should be pleasant for families and seniors. Backcountry hikers will not enjoy it, but the scenery is pleasant and the interpretive panels are interesting.
