The ride is between Liverpool and Summerville Beach, on the South Shore. The trail, like most converted railroad beds, features a smooth, crushed-rock surface and no technically challenging terrain. The distance between Liverpool and Summerville Beach is approximately 8.7 miles, making this a 17.4-mile out-and-back ride. Riders of all fitness levels will enjoy the relatively flat ride out to the beach, passing several picnic and resting spots on the way. although the trail ends rather suddenly at a junction with Highway 3, a short 1-mile ride on pavement will take you out to the beach for a refreshing post-ride swim.
