This is a walk for the entire family, particularly if you are looking for a place to have a picnic. In addition to picnic tables on the beach, others can be found along the Coastal Trail. Several of them are cleverly tucked into spaces among the krummholz, the thick white spruce of the headlands, and provide some shelter from the wind. Be sure to sign the guest book at the trailhead in the main parking lot. Another delightful component of the trek is the placement of bird feeders at several places along the trail, with an invitation to bring your own seed. They seem more like squirrel feeders, but watching them can be just as fun.
