Most people’s memory of the Cabot Trail includes Smokey Mountain. Perhaps it is the exceptionally steep drive to the summit, or maybe it is the panorama of the Atlantic Ocean spreading out beyond and below as you ascend. Possibly it is the bird’s-eye view of the coastline of Wreck Cove, Birch Plain, and Skir Dhu stretching southwards until lost in the mists.
