If you like rocks in large volume, particularly granite, then this is the trail for you. Although possibly the most challenging hike found in this book, the Admiral Lake Loop comes with my highest recommendation. This walk is only for the fit, but you are rewarded with magnificent views. Wear your sturdy footwear for this one and carry lots of water. Do not forget either binoculars or camera and expect sore muscles afterward.
