The ride is southwest of downtown Halifax, just a short distance from the Armdale Rotary. Wrandees' trails are sandwiched in between St. Margaret's Bay Road and Long Lake. "Wrandees" is a network of singletrack trails in Halifax that is legendary for its extreme terrain. Utilizing the natural growth patterns in the forest, the trails have not been cut, but instead have been traced between the trees and established only through use. Though they may seen to be arranged in a labyrinth at times, the trails are actually a series of lops that can be ridden in a veritable plethora of ways. At some trail junctions you may find arrows that indicate which direction will take you deeper into the trail system ("in loop"), and which direction will provide an escape or quick exit ("out loop"). In total, there are approximately 6 miles of trails. Don't be fooled by the seemingly harmless distance, though: these trails really are all singletrack, and it can take upwards of three hours to ride everything on a good day.
