Hemlock Ravine is considered by many to be one of the finest parks in the city. Located near the former northern boundary of Halifax, these 81 ha (200 ac) of wooded preserve are tucked amid one of the most rapidly developing portions of the Halifax Regional Municipality. The trail system is not long; however, the network has been developed as a maze, with numerous loops interconnecting, providing for a considerable variety of routes. The paths are broad and surfaced with finely crushed gravel. At dawn, you might find deer drinking from the still waters.

An easy, family trail in forested area adjacent suburban neighborhood. Popular for dogs (off-leash areas).
