The ride is located on the Avalon Peninsula, a half-hour northwest of St. John's. The ride to Flatrock from Torbay is a 6-mile out-and-back trip with the option to form a loop by returning on the pavement. The trail weaves toward and then out from the coast, following footpaths and old roads through woods, farm fields and along the edge of the cliffs that plunge into Tor Bay. It offers an easy-paced, intermediate ride along primarily hard-packed dirt trails over rolling terrain. You will find that the favored look-off points on the coast have well-trodden paths, but that even these most-visited sites feature views that have remained unchanged over time.

This trail has amazing views after starting from the beach its hard to find your rhythm till you cross from the boat launch area, after that smooth sailing you'll come across things that are truly breath-taking. i strongly suggest following the trail all the way to the tip of flat-rock and if you have enough energy left ride the trail in reverse, however the long climb from flat-rock on the paved road is rewarding with a long decent where you can build lots of speed.
