Come By Chance is situated on the western edge of the Avalon Peninsula, less than 100 miles west of St. John's. The race circuit in the town of Come By Chance is proof that mountain bikers exist everywhere and that with a little care and a lot of passion, great trails can be developed in the most unlikely places. Located at the westernmost edge of the Avalon Peninsula, Come By Chance is home to a family of riders who have developed a trail system that draws riders from as far as St. John's for an annual mountain bike race. Part of the attraction is the condition of the trails on this circuit. Unlike most of the trails in and around St. John's, where rocks and baby head-sized boulders turn many riders toward full-suspension bikes, Come By Chance features sweet, hard-packed dirt, singletrack trails. With all the challenges of twisty, narrow paths, steep drops, and some areas of rocky terrain, this race circuit is a treat to ride.
