Poley Mountain is located approximately 10 miles southeast of the town of Sussex. The mountain bike race circuit at Poley Mountain is a 3-mile loop that features a significant amount of climbing. In fact, the first half of the loop is relentless, as it strings together a series of steep climbs that do not end until you reach the summit of the mountain. The trails are fantastic: challenging singletrack sections linked together along fun doubletrack trails and some logging roads. The end of the ride also features some grassy trails that traverse the side of the mountain and a few steep downhill sections that weave tight turns in between narrow strips of forest. All in all this ride is best suited to intermediate and advanced riders in good physical condition. The highlight o the ride is the summit, where you will most likely be able to cool off and enjoy the breeze as you gaze out over the rolling hills of the Dutch Valley and the Fundy Model Forest.
