Birding is excellent in this area at just about any time of the year. There are benches and picnic tables along the trail and spurs. Two lookout towers allow for good birding. Goodwin’s Pond was created by Ducks Unlimited Canada in 1981. It is located adjacent to the large salt marshes and tidal flats of Baie Verte and attracts a variety of waterfowl to rest and migrate from here in the spring and fall. Goodwin’s Pond even holds a record: it is home to more birds per acre than any other place in the province. Trail Condition: dry.
