Birdwatching is good in the area. The Gaspareaux estuary and an adjacent salt marsh attract bald eagles, loons, ospreys, gannets, cormorants, great blue herons, gulls, terns, geese, ducks, and a variety of shorebirds to this area. The birds can be viewed from observation points along the trail. Fort Gaspaeraux at the end of the trail has an interesting history that is detailed on a plaque at a memorial. Trail Condition: some wet spots, boardwalk sections.
