French Fort Cove Trail

French Fort Cove Trail Professional Guide

Detailed Trail Description from our Guidebook

"This trail features several vistas that overlook the beautiful French Fort Cove. Pretty stands of young birch, aspen, and beech trees line the steep walls of the gorge. Sheep laurel on the upper plateau resemble tundra.

Beavers and their lodge can frequently be seen at the cove near the covered bridge at dawn and dusk. In 1755, a battery was built at French Fort Cove for the protection of Acadians who had fled here after their expulsion from Nova Scotia. British troops later levelled it. Trail Condition: dry."

This is an excellent trail. It has several paths, some for beginners or for taking the entire family, and some for the challenges or the advance trail. It has all the beauty that nature lovers would enjoy.
