Kouchibouguac Professional Review and Guide
"The trail is located on the eastern coast of New Brunswick, about an hour south of Miramichi. Kouchibouguac National Park has been designed for families and recreational enthusiasts. It has successfully transformed areas of salt marsh, lagoon, and sand dunes into popular areas for canoeing, picnicking, and swimming, and it has an expansive network of bike trails. While there are over 12.5 miles of standard, 4.5 feet, gravel-dusted bike trails, the park has gained respect among mountain bikers for its 4.2 miles of singletrack. By the same token, the trail has also helped mountain bikers gain respect from the hordes of uninitiated riders who embark on their first off-road ride here. On this 17-mile loop, you will travel through the most of the park, enjoying both inland and coastal scenery.
A good portion of the multi-use trail traces the edge of the Kouchibouguac River and the shores of the Gulf of St. Lawrence. Just as these shores have been turned into recreational areas, the 6-km (4.2-mile) single-track trail has turned a picturesque stretch of woods and marshlands into a mountain biker’s playland designed to be accessible to all riders. We saw families and groups of beginner and advanced riders enthusiastically ploughing through the mud and negotiating roots and rocks along this stretch of trail."
