The trailhead is located at the Pavillon de L'estacade, overlooking the Madawaska River in downtown Edmunston. The section of converted rail bed between Edmundston and the Quebec border marks the start of the Petit Temis Linear Inter-Provincial Park. The entire park spans 70 miles, passing rivers, lakes, and towns as it makes its way to Riviere du Loup. Along the way there are several opportunities to stop of parks and recreational facilities for swimming and other activities. This section of the ride is easy and follows a flat, gravel-dust trail that is suitable to all ages and abilities. Arriving at the border, you may choose to extend the trip to Temiscouata Lake- roughly 12 miles farther west- for swimming and hopefully a vehicle shuttle back to Edmundston.
