This interpretive trail leads through a moderately shady forest. At 0.8 km (0.5 miles) a short trail to a campground departs to the right. The main trail continues straight and on the level for some time before descending. The stream at the bottom of the steep-walled gorge disappears at times. Its banks are densely overgrown, and Siberian dogwood, ferns, and cow parsnip grow on the flood plain.
