Here is a short, easy hike among lower Hollyburn’s honeycomb of trails, combining old hiking routes with cross-country ski trails. The circuit includes three of the mountain’s numerous lakes, and cuts through many a blueberry patch—allow extra time if you go in August. The ski trails are mostly signposted but remember to look up high for these signs. Look for a sign to Blue Gentian Lake. This next section of trail is fairly steep and rough as it descends beside Stoney Creek, but it does o¤er glimpses of the canyon below. After crossing a bridge over a ravine, you will see a sign directing you left to Blue Gentian Lake. A subsequent right turn brings you to the secluded lake in its marshy setting.
