You will walk among giants on this lower Hollyburn circuit. Two groves of large western red cedars and many ancient stumps bearing sawyers’ slits are reminders of the forest as it once was. In late fall a fascinating variety of fungi can be seen in the woods, and the two small lakes, much frequented in summer, will now be left to themselves—and you. A short distance beyond the gate, the wide track bears left and is joined by the Baden-Powell Trail as far as the powerline. At this point, the Brothers Creek fire road ascends straight ahead into the woods, marked with red metal squares. This is your route.
