Galloping Goose Railroad Trail -- Sooke Road Second to Third Junction Professional Review and Guide
"This trail is located in Victoria. Section two of the Galloping Goose railway takes you past lots of ocean views on its 21.7 km (13.02 miles) point-to-point route. From Sooke Road, it rolls through a rural landscape past farms that were homesteaded more than 100 years ago.
Pioneers like Edward and Phoebe Field, after traveling the Oregon Trail in 1877, settled this area in 1878 and began one of the first sheep farms. Years later, the railway brought even more people to the area, but it has still retained much of its rustic beauty. Beyond this ranch, the trail begins to roll above the Juan de Fuca Strait, offering successive views of Pedder Inlet, Roche Cove, and the Sooke Basin."
