More interesting than a simple up-and-back hike to Mount Strachan is a counter-clockwise circuit of the mountain starting at the alpine ski area in Cypress Provincial Park. The trip described here takes the Baden-Powell Trail, then the old Strachan Trail, passes an old airplane wreck thence to the two summits of Mount Strachan. The descent uses the Howe Sound Crest Trail (Hike 47) as a return.
