Mount Gardner on Bowen Island offers a variety of outings to and around the summits of the little mountain with, for reward, unsurpassed views of Howe Sound and its encircling peaks. The trip described here uses some of the trails available, but is only one of many possibilities. The hike leads you to the north summit with its communication devices and helipads. There are, however, spectacular views on a fine day, which are well worth your effort. By contrast, the south summit, though higher, is treed and viewless; it is not described here. Access is as a foot passenger from Horseshoe Bay to Snug Cove. Check your sailing times, especially for the return.

Nice forested trails, easy footwork, mostly a gentle uphill grade, several nice viewpoints along the way. The trails could have better signage, and we may have taken a longer route than we needed to. But I'd do it again.

Good trail with a excellent view at the top of Vancouver. Great for a quick trip out of the city as it's with-in walking distance straight off the ferry. The first part leading up the trail can be a bit steep. I went in mid-March and there was still ankle deep snow half way up, probably all melted in April.
