Burnaby Heights/Trans Canada Trail Professional Review and Guide
"North Burnaby is blessed in its rolling topography, with numerous little eminences to provide vantage points over city, sea and mountain; it is doubly blessed in its many little parks and green spaces with their vistas of the distant North Shore mountains, from The Lions to Golden Ears and its neighbours."
--Mary & David Macaree, 109 Walks in British Columbia's Lower Mainland (Greystone Books).
The first 15 mins of the trail I really liked because it was in the middle of the woods and had some nice views of the water. Pretty simple walk, anybody can do it. However after about 10-15 minutes or so, the trail was out in the open, behind people's homes, next to an oil refinery and I just got bored and turned around... I was told later on that the trail continues on towards Capitol Hill and to a beach and even all the way to SFU eventually, but honestly, unless the trail was going to loop around and come back (which it doesn't), I would rather stay in the cool woodsy part.
