Nestled at the foot of the Fitzsimmons Range, and just within the boundary of Garibaldi Provincial Park, glacier-fed Cheakamus Lake is ringed by peaks towering to 1600 m (5250 feet). The mostly level trail and lakeshore campsites draw summer crowds of hikers, fishers and mountain bikers. If you prefer tranquility and school holidays are not a consideration, hike the trail in fall, when the lake is enfolded in silence and the surrounding mountains await the first snowfall.

Nice flat walk though forest, along creek and lake. Perfect for kids. Cousin and I took 6 kids in total ages 4-10 years old for a one night backpaking trip. Lots for the kids to explore, including the bridge about 1KM into the trail.
