The Boise Trail was built by the Western Canada Wilderness Committee to demonstrate the value of protecting this area from further resource removal. The result was Pinecone Burke Provincial Park. The 50 km (31 mi) trail takes you from Coquitlam to Squamish. The trip described here is only the first short section of the west end of the trail and leads you into Mamquam Pass, the headwaters of the Mamquam River.
