An easy walk along Verendrye Creek with limited views of Mount Verendrye. The simple fact is, some mountain views are just better from the highway; this is the case for the Verendrye Creek trail. However, if you’re just looking for a walk in the woods, this one is quite easy—apart from the number of mud slides you’ll have to traverse prior to reaching the creek at the 2.3-kilometer point. You may also catch a glimpse of Mount Verendrye (3,08 6m) straight ahead (west), yet the views are always limited by trees. And that’s only if you’ve been eager enough to ford Verendrye Creek—crossing to the north side of the valley; the bridge was washed out many years ago. At this point many hikers turn around and head back down the trail.
