This long, forested hike offers views of Luxor Pass, Mount Crook, and the Mitchell Range. You’ll get better views from the parking lot than you will on this prolonged walk in the woods. On the way to Luxor Pass, you’ll scramble up some extremely strenuous sections, which offer limited views compared with other trails in the area. Unless you’re simply interested in some fantastic exercise, we’d suggest skipping this trail. The trail starts on the Dolly Varden Fire Road, which doubles as a mountain bike trail. Spruce, aspen, lodgepole pine, and Douglas fir line this well-maintained trail, with blue clematis and tiny northern anemones providing a splash of color.
