This easy backpacking trail leads you through Prospector’s Valley, offering excellent views of area mountain peaks, before ending at Kaufmann Lake. The first time we hiked this trail, we turned around after just 5 kilometers because of an aggressive grizzly bear. An early-July snowstorm surprised us on our second trip. Even so, we still recommend this easy backpacking hike, which leads you through Prospector’s Valley, offering excellent views of nearby mountain peaks on the way to Kaufmann Lake.
