This gentle walk ends at Dog Lake with a view of Mount Harkin. The lake is definitely a “dog” compared with others in Kootenay National Park, but this gentle walk in the woods is great for working off a big picnic dinner. The trail’s first 900 meters parallels the highway as it passes through the McLeod Meadows picnic site. This is the least enjoyable section of the hike because of the constant buzz of traffic on Highway 93.
