St Agnes Well Skookumchuck

St. Agnes Well (Skookumchuck) Professional Guide

Detailed Trail Description from our Guidebook

"Includes: Joffre Lakes. Roadside hot tanks by the Lillooet River, seasonally frequented by locals and man-eating mosquitoes. Keep swimwear handy. Users have cut a fiberglass septic tank in half to create two oval-shaped soaking tanks. The spring bubbles up at 129 degrees F/54 degrees C and feeds into the tubs, along with a cold water source, through sections of PVC pipe.

One tank is squeezed inside an A-frame shelter, and the other sits across a small clearing in the woods. The land around St. Agnes Well, located near the practically deserted village of Skookumchuck, was once a large homestead. The property is still privately owned but is open to the public. The name Skookumchuck means “good water” in Chinook."

This place is a little piece of heaven... we have never been here before, nor did we know that it ever exisited and we will definitely be going back very soon.

It is a special place, and so very relaxing. I would recommend it to anyone.
