Vancouver Lookout Professional Review and Guide
"This roundabout journey on the forested lower slopes of Mount Seymour Provincial Park uses part of the Baden-Powell Trail to link up with older Mount Seymour trails. The circuit includes the site of the historic “Mushroom,” once the meeting place and parking lot for hikers and skiers, and has for its mid-point Vancouver Picnic Area—originally known as Vancouver Lookout, until the forest gradually obscured the view.
From the west side of the road, follow the red markers along the well-groomed path for about 400 m (= mile) to a junction with the Old Buck Trail. Turn left, then in a short distance turn right (west) to continue on the Baden-Powell, now a stony old road. After passing the signpost and map indicating the departure of the Baden-Powell for Hyannis Drive, you will cross a powerline right-of-way with a view westward to West Vancouver, Point Atkinson, Bowen Island and beyond."
