Until the late 1970s this summit and its picturesque subalpine plateau were attainable only by those prepared to hike from just above sea level at Horseshoe Bay. Now, thanks to Cypress Parkway, they may be reached with a fraction of the energy required before. Though this trail may be a little difficult to find at first, following it in preference to staying with the ski run is well worth the initial effort, as it winds its way westwards to intersect the Black Mountain Loop about 20m south of its junction with the Baden-Powell Trail.
