This is a must-do hike to become acquainted with the best of Kokanee Glacier Provincial Park, one of the oldest designated provincial parks in British Columbia. The following hike leads to historic Slocan Chief Cabin, the newer Kokanee Glacier Cabin, and camping sites in the grizzly bear country and alpine meadows near the park’s namesake glacier. The popular area offers many side trips, including an easy climb to 8,500 feet above the glacier for those who bring in glacier-travel gear. Kokanee Peak and the park’s highest mountain, Cond Peak, elev. 9,200 feet, loom above the glacier.
