A bark mulch path ambles through immature temperate rain forest with some old-growth Douglas fir trees and ocean views. The forest is clear-cut on both sides of this protected area. Although the official trail ends at the bridge, the hike continues past this point to Dodd Narrows. This is a great place for spotting sea lions, pods of orcas, and eagles.
