The Duffey Lake Road is a 100-kilometer (60-mile) drive from the mountain-lined Pemberton Valley, through a high traverse of the Coast Mountains to Lillooet on the edge of BC’s arid Southern Interior. The road is difficult in places with steep grades, tight corners, and numerous one-lane bridges, but rewards drivers with some of the best roadside scenery in southwestern BC.
Special attractions: Challenging driving, close-up views of glaciers and mountain peaks, the opportunity to see a cross-section of the Coast Mountains from the wet western side to the dry eastern side, and wildlife sightings. This eTrail is a complete description of a scenic drive with a route map and information on the best travel seasons, interesting sites, recreation opportunities, camping locations, and much more.
